In 2007 we launched Kids Money Packs on the back of the success of Control Freak a Recipe for Debt Freedom after applying some fairly straight forward lateral thinking into knowing that prevention is better than cure.
With no financial education in schools, most young people are in a Lottery situation, if their parents are financially astute and have encouraged them to handle their own money from an early age, then they stand a better chance than these who have had no introduction at all. ( Statistically this is less than 5% of the population.) With Control Freak a Recipe for Debt freedom being the "cure", then it was only natural for us to come up with a "preventative medicine" which are Kids Money Packs.
In 2007 we wrote to the Prime Minister introducing Kids Money Packs and we were swiftly passed to the Education Department, where we were politely told that it was felt that financial education for children should be taught through formal schooling.( which it isn't, but never mind eh? )

So in other words wait yet another decade or so, when some "counting & coins" may be introduced, but in the meantime an article has appeared in the Time Online stating that the Government are looking to Financial Advisers to help teenagers with their debts! ( This would be the equivalent of crashing a car then teaching someone how to drive, this of course is only my opinion and other people may feel differently. )
So fast forward to March 2008, and I am fascinated by how ineffective "How To" recipes are for the vast majority of people. I wonder if any of us "serial self helpers" actually ever carry out the step by step instructions to reach the conclusion. Statistics tell us, it's less than 2%. 95% of people are too busy to even finish reading the book!
So with the widening appeal of the internet & the technology of audio, video, pod casting & blogging we thought we would turn your thinking upside down and SHOW you week by week HOW TO use the Control Freak Recipe, follow our Money 4 Life principles on sharpening your Financial IQ, prepare your children properly to not turn out to be yet another debt statistic of the future and make sure it still stayed FUN, MOTIVATIONAL & above all POSITIVE! ( no pressure then! )

Yes I really did appear on Vanessa Feltz's Real Lives.. I was asked to comment on a positive way out of debt on the show, which was suggesting that the young girls who appeared on the show were victims of Wanna Be WAGS ( which they weren't by the way ). It was clear however that it is generally felt by young people that "student loan debt" doesn't really "count" as "debt", and that if stores are "kind" enough to offer them credit, the will gladly & happily take it & use it.
